What is Dimension and Extra Dimension

Dimension – A substance which occupies an amount of space is called Dimension.
There are multiple numbers of dimensions in the cosmos. According to Vedic text, there are 64 types of dimensions, and in A Brief History of Time, Stephen W. Hawking spoke about multiple types of dimensions in the cosmos. Though all the dimensions are not apparent. But in painting, we generally work with the visible spectrum, with the following three dimensions – Height, Width, and Length, which are apparent in our visionary system.

The Dimension we perceive through our vision is responsible for our location, our focal point, and perpendicular attachment to the surface we dwell on. This perception through our visionary tool is neither absolute nor constant. From any point in the cosmos, if we perceive the dimension of objects which is apparent in our visionary tool, necessarily not all visions of dimensioned objects will remain the same. For every change of focal point, the form of the dimensioned object will change too. For example – If an astronaut, when in space and having a vision of the planet Earth, will drastically change as soon as he is landing on the surface of the Earth. But the existential reality of the dimension of the planet Earth will remain the same. Due to the change of focal point, he will perceive the same Earth in a completely different form or dimension. (How the image is getting created on our focal point/retina and how the retina is transforming into a visible reality I am not descending to particles here on them).

Similarly, when a man in India and a man in the UK are having a vision of nature and everyone is watching the Sunrise up above their heads, but substantially everyone is dangling to each other, Pic – Earth. So, if the vision of the Indian is correct, then is the vision of the man in the UK wrong? Certainly not. Everyone is perceiving nature as per their local standing point. And at the same time, while an Indian and a UK man are watching Sunrise in their country, the astronaut in deep space is having a vision of the entire Earth but sensing that everyone is dangling with the Earth. Therefore, the visionary dimension of the Indian, the UK man, and the astronaut will stand totally different from each other.

Why do I call it Extra Dimensional –
Since every dimensioned object is apparently combined with different multiple surfaces, as – Concave, Convex, Concavo-convex, and Plain surface, so, whenever we envision an object, it also appears either in concave or convex curvature in our visionary system according to the particular stand of the object in the location from the viewer, just like my diagram Pic – 1 and Pic – 2, and thus the perspective of objects located within the area is also being formed.

So, in “ED” painting, I have consciously been using all different genres of surfaces, visions, which are apparent and even non-apparent, angles, and breaking all laws of the customized idea of perspective and presenting them on a 3D model made of waste newspapers to facilitate my expression, to speak beyond what we perceive in a single vision without changing angle, which altogether does have the potential to elapse beyond all visible dimensions. So, my endeavor here is to represent all these changes of perception through our vision or even beyond our perception on one surface using a 3D model.

Motive for applying the scholarship –
I want to present that such a serious form of art can be made out of just waste mediums along with the experiment on different dimensions, some of which are already presented by me, some I will express in due course of time, and some more shall be researched and presented by the upcoming artists. But, at every stage of my research, I have faced challenges. Challenges of space and money. Challenges to make more and more 3D models on which I practice and more space. More money to buy an oven and more space to acquire or rent a bigger studio.

Very unfortunately, I have just nothing of all these. Therefore, my experiments remained incomplete due to a lack of money and space.

So, if I get the support of this Fellowship and a bigger space, I can complete and show to the world the potency of this research and the potency in me and of the medium. The medium is capable of replacing Stone, Metal, and Fiber. Relying on the transfer of the pigment layer is also possible in this medium. It is very economic and non-bulky for easy transportation. The only demerit – it cannot be displayed outdoors.
